New Orleans Voodoo (4–2–0) defeat Atlanta Firebirds (1–5–0) 5–2 in XHL scoring points, with four physical goals to Atlanta’s two. Artemi Panarin scores twice, including a two-point goal, and adds an assist for four player points.
Jason Scalzo gives New Orleans a first-period lead at minute 10. Panarin makes it 2–0 at minute 9 of the second, but Terry Turner and Mike Raff answer at minutes 14 and 16 to draw Atlanta level.
Panarin strikes for double value at minute 20 of the second, assisted by Justin Draughn, turning the 2–2 tie into a 4–2 New Orleans lead. Brendan Dickson adds the last goal at minute 19 of the third, with Panarin and Draughn assisting. Draughn finishes with two assists. The extra scoring point belongs to Panarin’s played goal, not to the pregame contest.
