Quebec Citadels (1–3–0) earn their first victory, winning 4–2 at previously unbeaten Hartford Nightwatch (3–1–0). A power-play equaliser and a short-handed third-period goal help Quebec overturn an early deficit.

Pasi Kapanen opens for Hartford at minute 8 of the first, assisted by Giorgi Prokhorkin and Rasmus Eriksson. Scott Dow levels on the power play at minute 14 of the second, from Niles Nagy and Mika Zibanejad.

Matt Duchene puts Quebec ahead at minute 19 of the second, assisted by Mats Zetterlund. Alex Bouwmeester then scores short-handed at minute 2 of the third, from Jim Boyko, making it 3–1.

Hartford responds at minute 10 through Prokhorkin, assisted by Gary McMorrow and Kyle Weller. Zetterlund restores the two-goal cushion at minute 19, from Marc-Andre Jarry and Cari Samuelsson. Zetterlund and Prokhorkin each finish with a goal and an assist.

Quebec improves to 1–3 while Hartford drops to 3–1. All six goals carry one scoring point. Hartford won the pregame target contest, but that advantage is not used because Quebec wins in regulation.
