Rangers won 3–1 at Parkhead. John McPherson opened the scoring in the first minute. Johnny Campbell equalized at 60 minutes, but R. C. Hamilton restored the visitors’ lead a minute later. Alec Smith settled the match at 85 minutes, assisted by Jacky Robertson.
Celtic had 21 shots and 14 on target to Rangers’ 18 and 12. Matthew Dickie made 13 saves for Rangers; Dan McArthur made nine for Celtic. Each club received two cautions and neither had a player dismissed.
